Sick leave
SAPI is committed to promoting our staff's health, safety and welfare and supporting individuals with health difficulties. We do not expect employees to attend work when they are medically unfit.
Sick Pay and Leave
SAPI will provide sick pay for the following amounts and durations:
- Up to 30 calendar days: 100% of base salary
- More than 30 days up to 90 days: 50% of base salary
- Any additional sick leave after this time will be unpaid
Certification requirements
- Sickness absence of up to 7 calendar days shall be self-certified. Please communicate any sickness absence with your manager at the earliest opportunity.
- Sickness absence lasting for 8 calendar days or more, you should obtain a Statement of Fitness to Work from your GP (a “Fit Note”). Please send any Fit Notes to your manager at the earliest opportunity.
Statutory Sick Pay
Employees may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) provided all relevant statutory requirements are satisfied. SSP is £99.35 a week (£109.40 from 6 April 2023) for up to 28 weeks.
